Our Workforce & Financial Empowerment efforts connect community members with employment opportunities, financial education, work-based learning experiences, and other resources that can help them move toward their goals. Whether you’re looking for work, hoping to strengthen your finances, seeking experience, or simply aren’t sure where to start, we’re here to help you make the right connections.

The Connections Zone at the New Braunfels Food Bank is a place to explore employment opportunities and other community resources that can help you reach your goals.
Here you can:
- Explore our Job Board, updated weekly with local opportunities offering living wages.
- Use a computer, printer, or phone to search and apply for jobs, work on a resume, or connect with community resources.
- Learn about programs and resources available in our community.
- Talk with a New Braunfels Food Bank staff member or volunteer about what you’re working toward. We’ll be happy to help connect you with resources that may help.

Throughout the year, the New Braunfels Food Bank offers financial literacy classes and coaching, resume workshops, hiring events, job fairs, and other opportunities designed to help you build skills, make connections, and work toward your goals.

Workforce Partnerships
Building experience. Developing skills. Creating opportunities.
The New Braunfels Food Bank is not only a place to connect with employment resources. We also serve as a work-based learning and workforce development partner. We work with workforce organizations, schools, colleges, and community partners to provide opportunities for participants to gain real-world experience, develop workplace skills, explore careers, and contribute to their community through meaningful work at the Food Bank.
Over the years, the New Braunfels Food Bank has hosted participants through programs and partnerships including:
- Workforce Solutions Alamo, including WIOA, SEAL, Work Experience, YES, and Workfare participants
- AARP SCSEP
- Reemployability
- College internships for students representing a variety of majors and career interests
- Texas Workforce Commission Vocational Rehabilitation
These partnerships allow participants to experience a real workplace while building skills, confidence, experience, and connections that can help prepare them for future employment.
Partner With Us
The New Braunfels Food Bank welcomes partnerships with local employers who want to connect with job seekers and invest in our community.
There are several ways your organization can get involved:
- Post your openings on our Connections Zone Job Board
- Host a hiring event at the New Braunfels Food Bank
- Participate in a job fair and meet local job seekers
- Share your expertise by leading a workshop on resumes, cover letters, interviewing, career development, or other workforce skills
- Create a specialized volunteer opportunity that gives your employees a meaningful way to serve while sharing their professional skills
One of our community job fairs brought together more than 280 job seekers and 30 employers.
At a targeted hiring event for a single employer, 32 job seekers participated in on-the-spot interviews and 16 received job offers that day.
