When school lets out, hunger sets in for over 200,000 children across our community. Without access to free or reduced-price school meals, summer becomes a season of uncertainty for many families. Instead of enjoying long days of play and learning, kids face empty plates—and parents face impossible choices.
At the New Braunfels Food Bank, we believe every child deserves a summer filled with energy, joy, and nourishment—not hunger.
Through our Summer Meals for Kids program, we’re Serving Bright Futures by providing no-cost, nutritious meals to children all summer long at Summer Meals Sites across our service area. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or nourishing groceries, each meal is one step closer toward a brighter future for a child.

Every child deserves a full plate and a bright future. The San Antonio Food Bank is partnering with over 100 community centers, public libraries, schools, and more to provide no-cost meals, groceries, and snacks to kids throughout Southwest Texas this summer. Whether you’re looking for ready-to-eat meals for your children or groceries to help fill your family’s pantry, we have resources available to support you.

Food donations are critical to our ongoing efforts to fight hunger this summer.
Food donations and drives can be conducted by any individual or group.
- MAKE A FOOD DONATION: To drop-off a food donation, visit our campus located at 1620 S. Seguin Ave., New Braunfels, TX 78130 or any Raising Canes location in San Antonio.
- START A FOOD DRIVE: To start a food drive, please fill out our Food & Fund Drive form at safoodbank.org/ways-to-help/foodfunddriveregister/or click the button below.
VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME
Volunteers like you are essential to providing meals for kids this summer.
Donate your time as an individual, group, or company – all abilities and ages welcome. Our volunteer opportunities range from:
- Preparing meals in our community kitchen
- Sorting and packing food donations
- Distributing food at curbside and mobile distributions
- Harvesting in our garden and farm
