The holidays are past, but the need persists. Volunteers with the New Braunfels Food Bank served an estimated more than 400 vehicles on Wednesday morning while distributing products donated by Tyson, the Springdale, Arkansas-based chicken, beef and pork processor.

Some families began to line up at 3 a.m. Thursday for their chance to receive protein and groceries. Tyson Foods teamed up with the New Braunfels Food Bank and Santikos Entertainment Center to distribute 40,000 pounds of protein.
