ADVOCACY
As part of our mission, we lead hunger and poverty advocacy efforts in Southwest Texas. The Food Bank Government Relations team works with our state and national colleagues to educate public officials in our 29 county service area about the impact of food insecurity in our communities and to identify policy solutions to help put families on the road to health. Mobilizing state and federal lawmakers to support legislative solutions for hunger relief is a critical part of our work. Advocate with us. Together we can solve hunger.

Don't Let Congress Leave Meals for Kids in Limbo
Don't Let Congress Leave Meals for Kids in Limbo
Millions of kids across the country rely on meals provided at schools and community meal sites – but the flexible policies that make that possible are about to expire. Meals are at risk if Congress doesn’t act!
Tell Congress: Extend flexible child nutrition programs to ensure kids get the food they need to learn and grow!
Mapping the Meal Gap
The Food Bank serves across Southwest Texas with a 29 county service area (as part of the San Antonio Food Bank). It is imperative that the gaps in our map are continually assessed to better serve our communities, and this information is vital for you to better advocate for your neighbors!
The COVID-19 Pandemic has also drastically changed the landscape of food insecurity all across the nation. Feeding America has researched how this is impacting and will continue to impact counties all across Texas.
